Due to overwhelming interest, we are excited to start the K–3 Lake Little Lacrosse Program!
This program is designed to introduce young athletes in grades kindergarten through third to the basics of lacrosse in a fun, safe, and supportive environment. It will focus on teaching stick skills, movement, teamwork, and good sportsmanship, while prioritizing safety and fun.
Registration fee is $50
Program open to students in kindergarten, first, second, and third grade in Lake Local Schools
Sessions start Tuesday, April 7th
Parents must provide stick, goggles, and mouthguard
Registration closes March 31, 2026
Stick Skills
How to hold and control the stick
Cradling the ball while moving
Passing and catching accurately
Ground Balls
How to get low and pick up the ball
Protecting the stick when grabbing the ball
Basic Shooting
Simple shooting techniques
Focus on accuracy rather than power
Moving on the Field
Where to go when they don’t have the ball
Spreading out instead of chasing the ball
Intro to Defense
Staying between the opponent and the goal
Safe, controlled stick checks (no rough contact)
Rules & Game Basics
Simple rules, boundaries, and how play starts and stops
Understanding positions and scoring
Teamwork & Sportsmanship
Passing and playing with teammates
Respect for coaches, teammates, opponents, and officials
Trying hard and having a positive attitude is more important than scoring
